According to the latest report from TrendForce, in the first quarter of 2025, the combined revenue of the world's top ten fabless IC design companies increased by approximately 6% quarter-on-quarter, reaching a record high of $77.4 billion.

Fast Technology June 13 news, according to the latest report from TrendForce, in the first quarter of 2025, the combined revenue of the world's top ten fabless IC design companies increased by about 6% quarter-on-quarter, reaching $77.4 billion, setting a new historical record.


Among them, NVIDIA, leveraging its leading position in the AI data center sector, achieved first-quarter revenue exceeding $42.3 billion, with a 12% quarter-on-quarter increase and a 72% year-on-year growth, accounting for 55% of the total revenue, maintaining its top position.


Ranking second is Qualcomm, with first-quarter revenue of $9.47 billion. Due to the seasonal downturn impacting its mobile phone business and the potential challenges from Apple's increasing use of in-house chips, Qualcomm's overall revenue decreased by 6% quarter-on-quarter.


Broadcom ranked third with semiconductor revenue reaching $8.34 billion in Q1, a 15% year-on-year increase, thanks to its deep presence in AI networking solutions. 


AMD came in fourth with Q1 revenue of $7.44 billion, down 3% quarter-on-quarter but still up 36% compared to 2024. 


MediaTek secured fifth place with Q1 revenue hitting $4.66 billion, driven by growing demand from mainland Chinese smartphone clients for its Dimensity 9400+ and Dimensity 8000 series, as well as higher average selling prices for smartphone SoCs. 


Realtek saw revenue surge 31% quarter-on-quarter to over $1.06 billion, benefiting from PC customers increasing inventory, rising Wi-Fi 7 adoption, and growing demand for automotive Ethernet. 


OmniVision (Will Semiconductor) reported Q1 revenue of $730 million, down 2% quarter-on-quarter due to the smartphone off-season, but made notable progress in image sensors and automotive electronics.
